1. South by Southwest (SXSW)
SXSW has become one of the coolest and most talked about festivals in the past decade. Each year techies, entrepreneurs, marketers, musicians, and many others gather for a week of learning and fun-filled activities. If you’re a young startup company SXSW is a must.
2. International CES
Sony’s 4k Easel TV, Pebble watches, and the Oculus Rift were just some of the gadgets to steal the light in 2013′s International CES. If you love gadgets and high-tech equipment CES is a must for you. CES is a four day event, but most spectators choose one or two days to attend, usually the earlier the better. 2014′s International CES event will be held January 7th through the 10th.
3. Coachella
To some Coachella is the modern-day Woodstock located in the desert of Indio, California. Coachella attracts some of the best music artists from every genre and generates one of the most unique atmospheres around. 4. FIFA World Cup Brazil
The FIFA World Cup graces the world stage once every four-years. Billions -yes with a B- of people around the world tune in to catch their National team represent. While most professional soccer games are already insane, the World Cup brings it to a completely different level. Each game, sold out, attracts the wildest, the craziest, and the most devoted fans from around the world. Parties often start long before reaching the actual games. 5. Monaco Grand Prix
The Monaco Grand Prix is one of the coolest events you’ve probably never even considered attending. Featured in the movie Iron Man 2, the Grand Prix attracts some of the most affluent individuals from around world. The formula racing is top-notch but don’t forget to bring your ear buds.
6. PGA Tour The Masters
You might not get your own green jacket for attending but you will get to experience the breathtaking views of Augusta. Tickets start at $1250 per day and $5000 for the entire event. Your pass will put you in close range to golf legends and celebrities. If you’re hungry don’t forget to stop by the club house for $2.50 club sandwiches.
7. Winter Olympics Russia
Velcome Olympics to motta Russia. The Winter Olympics will take place February, 2014 in Sochi, Russia. Ninety-eight events in fifteen winter sports will be held. Both the Olympic and Paralympic Games are being organized by the Sochi Organizing Committee. What more do I need to say about the Olympics? Not only do you get to see the best athletes in the world but for some, it is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
8. Iron Man Australia
This is more of a participation than attendance type of event. Race in the countryside of Australia with a 3 mile swim, 180 mile bike ride, and full length marathon. The Australian backdrops are breathtaking and will leave you nothing short of inspired during your race.
9. American Cancer Society Relay for Life
Over four million people from 20 different countries participate worldwide each year. The Relay For Life is a particularly special event that honors cancer victims, survivors, and affected families. The event opens with a survival lap, when survivors walk to celebrate their victory over cancer. Individuals and corporations participate to create relay teams. If you’re looking to make a difference in 2014 this may be the event for you.
10. Carnival
Bright colors, beautiful people, and incredible energy. Need I say more? Carnival is one of the most notorious events for high-energy dancing and wild times.
